Laws and General Information About Medical Marijuana in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is one of the few states that currently have pending legislation that may finally provide patients with a resource they so desperately crave. Senate Bill 1182, also known as the Governor Raymond Shafer Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act, hopes to establish a “Pennsylvania Medical Cannabis Board, would allow for nonprofit compassionate care centers, and create a medical cannabis identification card system.

The last action the bill saw was when it was reported out of the Senate Law and Justice Committee and re-referred to the Appropriations Committee on July 1, 2014.
