Nevada Medical Marijuana

65% of Nevada voters approved Ballot Question 9 on November 7, 2000. The law went into effect on October 1st 2001.

Ballot Question 9 removed state-level criminal penalties for the use, possession, and cultivation of marijuana by qualifying state patients who have been given specific written documentation from their attending physician that states medical marijuana may benefit their condition. When a patient has obtained the proper written documentation they may use and possess medical marijuana in accordance with state laws and regulations.

Nevada State Regulations Regarding Medical Marijuana Possession

Qualified patients or their designated caregiver may not possess more than one ounce of dried, usable marijuana. Additionally patients may possess no more than three mature and four immature cannabis plants for home cultivation
